Sparrows

Most of these images are NOT sparrows! I just put things not otherwise in their own categories into this bunch. From that saucy little jet plane Belted Kingfisher to the elegant and regally attired Cedar Waxwings, most of these are regular seasonal visitors to our feeders. Eurasian Collared Doves are an invasive species although they are pleasant. Red Breasted Nuthatches take one seed at a time, dart off to hide it for later. Look at Crossbill's beak: it has evolved to be a specialized tool to get seeds out of conifer cones. Varied Thrush is a seasonal visitor, is related to robins. Usually a pair but not in flocks like their cousins.
